Foundry is a subsidiary of Digital Currency Group (DCG), CoinDesk’s parent business.
Foundry, a digital asset #mining and staking provider, is launching a new supply-chain management tool to improve the efficiency of #bitcoin mining equipment delivery as the industry struggles with logistical challenges.
According to MK Sathya, Foundry’s Senior Vice President of Infrastructure, Foundry Logistics is a dedicated supply-chain management service. That may drastically reduce total transit time for shipments and add visibility to individual shipments’ expenses; such services would not only save transit time but will also make internal accounting easier, according to Sathya.
As Foundry purchasers, #miners will gain access to end-to-end tracking via Foundry Logistics.
“Through global offices and a network of dedicated on-the-ground contacts for each order, Foundry Logistics ensures cost-effective and streamlined deliveries, providing clients with customs clearance, insurance guidance, ocean shipment solutions, national warehouse solutions, and other domestic surface logistics,” the company said in a statement.
Supply-chain concerns have plagued all over the world companies in recent years, and bitcoin mining is no exception. Due to the capital-intensive nature of the mining sector, miners cannot afford delays in mining rig delivery because it adds extra expense to the companies.
“Transit time and efficiency are critical in the cryptocurrency mining industry since machine profitability is reliant on a wide range of parameters, including bitcoin price and network mining difficulty,” Foundry said in a statement. “As a result, fast delivery of ordered hardware is vital to mining businesses’ operations,” the company stated.
According to Foundry, bitcoin mining computers frequently lack a mechanism to follow the progress of the ordered equipment in transit, making the process even less transparent and manageable.
Last year, Foundry established FoundryX, a new marketplace for buying and selling bitcoin mining devices.
According to the statement, customers that use this service will have access to the new supply-chain management system, which will be adapted to each client’s operating needs.
